If you offer more than one service — like grooming, daycare, dock diving, or boarding — you can attach a separate waiver to each one. Customers are then prompted to sign the right waiver only when they book that service.
Before you start
Service-specific waivers can only be created for services that are already turned on in your account. If you'd like to add a waiver for a service you don't yet offer in PawsAdmin (e.g., Dock Diving, Events, Pet Taxi), email support@pawsadmin.com and we'll enable the module for you first.
1. Create the waiver
Path: From the left side menu, go to Admin → Configure Waiver.
- Scroll to the Service-Specific Waivers section.
- Pick the service from the dropdown.
- Give the waiver a Title (e.g., "Dock Diving Liability Waiver").
- Paste or type your waiver text into the editor — basic formatting like bold, italics, and bullet points is supported.
- Check "Require signing before booking this service" if you want to gate bookings on a signature. Leave it unchecked to make signing optional.
- Click Save.
Repeat for each additional service you'd like a waiver for.
2. How customers sign it
Customers are prompted to sign in three ways, depending on how the booking happens:
- Booking online — they're prompted to sign before they can pick a date.
- Booked by staff in-store — an email automatically goes to the customer with a one-click link to sign in their portal.
- Logging into their portal — they see a yellow "Action needed" alert at the top of their profile listing any unsigned waivers, each with a Sign button.
The signing flow works on any device — phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop.
3. Sending a manual reminder
If a customer hasn't signed and you want to nudge them, open their profile and scroll to Service Waiver Compliance:
- Click Send beside an unsigned waiver to email them a fresh signing link.
- Click View beside a signed waiver to see the signed copy on file.
4. Updating a waiver
When you edit a service waiver and save, the version bumps automatically. Customers who signed the previous version are silently prompted to re-sign on their next booking for that service — no admin action needed. Previous signed copies remain on file in each customer's profile for your records.
