How to Set Up Boarding Spaces and Capacity in PawsAdmin

Whether you operate a traditional kennel facility or offer cage-free boarding, proper space management is crucial for smooth operations. This guide will help you set up your boarding spaces to streamline bookings, automate invoicing, and manage capacity effectively.

Before You Begin

Ensure you've set up your boarding prices first:

1. Go to Admin > Boarding > Set Up Boarding Prices
2. Create price options for different space types

Step 1: Create Kennel Groups

Kennel groups help organize your spaces and link them to specific pricing.

1. Navigate to Admin > Boarding > Kennel Setup
2. Click "Add New Kennel Group"
3. Enter details:
   • Group name (e.g., "Luxury Suites", "Standard Kennels")
   • Select corresponding price option
4. Click "Save"

Pro Tip: Your kennel groups will appear in the Kennel Group List for easy reference and management.

Step 2: Add Spaces to Groups

Choose between adding individual spaces or multiple spaces at once.

Option A: Add Individual Spaces

Perfect for unique or specialized boarding areas.

1. Click "Add Single Space"
2. Enter details:
   • Space name
   • Select kennel group
   • Description (optional but recommended)
     • Example: "Quiet corner space, ideal for shy dogs"
     • Example: "Wire kennel suitable for dogs with separation anxiety"
   • Room location (optional)
3. Click "Save"

Option B: Add Multiple Spaces

Ideal for creating several identical spaces quickly.

1. Click "Add Multiple Spaces"
2. Enter details:
   • Base name (e.g., "Suite")
   • Quantity (e.g., 10)
   • Starting number (e.g., 1)
   • Select kennel group
3. Click "Save"

1. Click the calendar icon at the top of any page
2. Select "Boarding Calendar"
