Managing payments is a crucial part of running a pet business, and PawsAdmin is designed to support you no matter which payment tools you prefer. This guide walks you through every available option—in-person payments, online payments, and integrated solutions—so you can choose the setup that best matches your workflow.
A major advantage of PawsAdmin is its flexibility. You can:
Use online payments only
Use integrated in-person POS only
Use both
Use neither and continue using your own POS
PawsAdmin works independently and does not require any specific payment system.
1. In-Person Payments
These are payments collected at your facility for grooming, daycare, boarding, training, or any other service.
You have two options:
Option A — Continue Using Your Current POS
You can keep using your existing POS machine or payment terminal (Square, Clover, Moneris, Chase, etc.).
How it works:
PawsAdmin automatically generates the invoice.
The total is automatically calculated.
You manually enter that total into your POS machine.
After the customer pays, you close the ticket in PawsAdmin.

Option B — Use PawsAdmin’s Integrated POS
If you want a seamless checkout process with no manual entry into your terminal, an integrated POS gives you that convenience.
How it works:
After PawsAdmin generates an invoice, the total automatically appears on your POS terminal—no typing required.
Once the customer completes the payment, the invoice automatically closes in PawsAdmin, keeping your system fully synced.
You have two integrated POS options:
1. Fiserv (Clover & Other Terminals) – US Only
Available only in the US due to API restrictions
Must be applied through our partner link
May require a credit score check and business license
2. Stripe Card Reader
Fast, easy onboarding through Stripe
May require business license
2. Online Payments
Online payments allow customers to pay for services, packages, and outstanding invoices directly in the client portal.
PawsAdmin offers two online payment providers:
Option A — Stripe
Fast and easy setup
Trusted and widely used online
Allow custom rate negotiation with their sales team once signed up
You can integrate an existing Stripe account or create a new one.
Option B — Fiserv Online Payments
Applied through our partner link
Best for businesses already using Fiserv for integrated in-person POS
Keeps all payments (online + in-person) under the same merchant provider
Online Payment Features in PawsAdmin
When online payments are enabled, customers can:
Pay open invoices in their client portal
Purchase services or packages online
Add a card on file
View past invoices and check-ins
Use recurring payments (Stripe only at the moment)
Submit online booking requests with required payment info
Card data is tokenized and secure. PawsAdmin only shows the last four digits.
Important Notes
Online and integrated in-person payments are completely optional.
You can use one, both, or none.
PawsAdmin does not manage merchant fees, financial details, or underwriting.
Full card information is never stored by PawsAdmin.
Your payment provider (Stripe or Fiserv) manages all payment processing.
