Daycare evaluations are a good way to determine if a dog would be a good fit for your facility. They also give pet owners an opportunity to experience your daycare. If it goes well, they may consider becoming long-term customers and opting for a daycare package. Here's how you can set it up in PawsAdmin.

Daycare Evaluation as Part of Your Regular Daycare Booking
1. Set Up Evaluation Daycare Price
- Path: Admin > Settings > Products & Services > Prices
- Click Daycare
2. Use the Default Evaluation Template Price
3. Or, Add Your Own Evaluation Price
- Select Daycare from the drop-down menu.
- Set Credit to 1.
- Check Set Price.
- Set your evaluation price (0 if it's free).
4. Specify It's for Evaluation During Booking
- Click on the + Sign at the top of any page to add an appointment.
- During booking, specify it's for evaluation in the booking notes.
5. Online Booking
- Navigate to Online Booking> Advanced Settings > View Advanced Options, and add the Evaluation checkbox option.
Note: You can also add a custom message on this page to provide more information about Evaluation Day.
- In online booking, if a user checks the box, you will see it in the online request.
Note: All new customers will be tagged 'New Customer', so it's clear which customer requires Evaluation.
6. Check in pet and close Invoice
- After checking in a pet, you will find the automatically generated invoice.
- Click on Opened Invoice, select Evaluation, and close the invoice.
Set Up Daycare Evaluation as Specific Time-Based Appointments
Alternatively, if you offer evaluations at specific drop-off times with limited capacity, you can set it up as a separate service. (Please contact Support to have it added.)
1. Set Up Evaluation Daycare Price
Path: Admin > Settings > Products & Services > Prices
- Select Evaluation Service from the drop-down menu.
- Set Check-Out Name to Evaluation.
- Check Set Price.
- Set your evaluation price (0 if it's free).
2. Set Up Evaluation Appointment Openings
- Path: From the left side menu, navigate to:
Path: From the left side menu, navigate to: ADMIN > Admin NEW > Settings > Calendar > Schedule
- Add the appointment availability (e.g., 1 every hour from 9-3 except for lunchtime).
- Go to the daily calendar to remove an appointment on a specific day or add new openings for a specific day.
- To remove multiple-day appointments, go to Time-Off/Closure.
3. During Booking, Choose Evaluation and Select a Date and Time
- Click on the + Sign at the top of any to add an appointment.
4. In the Online Booking/Client Portal, Select Evaluation to Complete the Booking
5. After Checking in a Pet, an Invoice Will Be Automatically Created for You
- Select Evaluation to close the invoice.
